WHY TRADITIONAL PRONUNCIATION COURSES FAIL YOU?

Do you find them tricky? These are word pairs—words that sound similar but have small differences. Native speakers always pronounce them correctly, and mastering them is a key indicator of good pronunciation.

Mispronouncing word pairs can cause confusion and even lead to awkward situations. Learning these sounds individually is challenging, but hearing and practicing them together makes the differences clear and easy to remember.
For example:

A ship is not built for a sheep.

Hearing both words in the same sentence helps you differentiate and pronounce the sounds accurately, like a native speaker!

In the course, you’ll practice many word pairs, which will also help you with other English words with similar sounds.

DRILLS - YOUR SECRET WEAPON

The course not only helps you notice the differences between similar words but also helps you consolidate them.

After years of helping students, I developed a highly effective and unique technique I call 'drills.' This technique helps you consolidate and remember tricky sounds in English with only a few minutes a day. Let me illustrate this with an example.

Let's say we want to practice how to pronounce 'berry' and 'very':

1. This berry is very sweet.

2. This _____ is very sweet.

3. This berry is ____ sweet.

4. This berry is very sweet.



Here's how it works:

1. First, I say the sentence. You just listen, paying attention to the differences.

2. Second, I say the sentence, but instead of saying 'berry,' there's a silence. This is your turn to say that word out loud!

3. Third, we do the opposite. You say 'very' instead.

4. Lastly, I say the whole sentence again so you get instant feedback on your pronunciation.

With these exercises, you constantly reinforce correct pronunciation and receive immediate feedback. It's like having your personal pronunciation coach at home!

A few minutes a day makes a huge difference over time.

INFORMAL CONTRACTIONS

You'll listen to informal contractions that native speakers use all the time.

Here are a few examples of many you'll master with the course:

could have – "could've/coulda"
I don't know – "I dunno"
give me – "gimme"
going to – "gonna"
might have – "might’ve"
want to – "wanna"

We'll work on this using the technique of 'word pairs,' hearing both the formal and informal versions in sentences.
